From Sportgastein to Ortberg2401  m

There is avalanche danger on the route. The ridge may carry cornices above the steep eastern slopes falling into the Nassfelder Tal; around the summit also watch out for protruding rocks. The steeper descent variant down the west slope to the Miesbichlscharte needs plenty of snow.

When snow is low, the ascent above the last bend before the tunnel is on foot along a path that is slightly exposed in places and secured with ropes. The road tunnel to the hut is usually closed.

Descent difficulty S2, exposure E1. Max. slope 35°, prevailing 15°, facing south. No glacier and no climbing sections.
